New rides galore for UK Theme Parks in 2006

New roller coasters, new exciting rides and a whole lot of fun : 2006 is shaping up to be quite a season for theme parks across the UK. No matter where you may live throughout Britain or wherever your holiday travels may be taking you this year - there's bound to be some new excitement awaiting you and your family!



The UK Theme Park industry has gone from strength to strength over the past ten years and it seems 2006 could be one of the most exciting seasons yet with a number of big budget rides and attractions opening at some of the countries heavyweight parks in the coming months. Perhaps no park in the UK is as well known as Alton Towers – which is set for a chocolate explosion in April this year!



This spring Alton Towers – http://www.alton-towers.co.uk has promised visitors an unforgettable journey into the magical world of Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – in fact to celebrate the opening of the ride the park is temporarily being re-named “Chocolate Towers". The whole park will be transformed into a chocolate wonderland – including Choc-uvious, the world’s only chocolate volcano which will be erupting twice daily, showering guests with chocolate treats!



The ride itself will take guests into the heart of chocolate factory onboard the famous glass lifts that were immortalized in the children’s classic. Highlights include traveling down the chocolate river and a look into the mysterious inventing room. Visitors will have to make sure they heed the warnings from the Oompa-Loompas or they could end up like the unfortunate Veruca Salt!



While the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory ride may be for those who enjoy life at a slightly slower pace, the new “Stealth" ride at Thorpe Park is certainly not for the faint-hearted! Traveling to dizzying heights of 205ft the ride accelerates from 0-80mph in 2.3 seconds and hits a massive top speed of 128kph – which beats the Alton Towers ride “Rita : Queen of Speed" by a full 28kph!



Thorpe Park ( http://www.thorpepark.co.uk ) are extremely proud of their ride that will be the tallest and fastest launch coaster in Europe when it goes live to the public in March 2006. This will definitely be the exciting ride of the season that all rollercoaster enthusiasts will have to try out!



Finally, in terms of new technology perhaps the most exciting attraction of 2006 will be the new Spellbreaker 4D adventure film being launched at Legoland Windsor. The medieval theme is full of stunning 3D special effects that are bound to have you on the edge of your seat and the spine-tingling physical effects in amazing 4D will ensure this is a truly memorable experience.



Legoland - http://www.legoland.co.uk - has been a hit with families for years with its innovative rides and events but Spellbreaker really does have the potential to be the parks most exciting attraction yet. The film follows the trials and tribulations of the hero Blacksmith who has to use all his cunning to rescue the princess by battling through the evil wizard and his skeleton army.
